If you are reading this then you have successfully made your way to the rabbit hole that is now my public diary. This is something I always wanted to do, but I was never really too sure what to write about other than my experiences at cosplay conventions.
I have done a little bit of research about what other people write about, what's interesting to read, and what's trending. Of course, you can't always please everyone so I decided to go "screw it, let's just do whatever I want to do."
Soooooooooooooooo.......... welcome to my blog!
As you may have read on the many social media platforms I own, earlier this week I had to say goodbye to my boyfriend Nathan, who visited me for a week. In hindsight, I wish I had taken more photos of our time together, but at the same time I am also glad I was too distracted by living in the moment. His visit definitely made this year 10 times better, and it gave me plenty more motivation to continue creating my online content and working towards a happy future.
Nathan and I have known each other for over 10 years now. We met on an online platform called IMVU and our friendship has grown tremendously over the years. We have had our ups and downs, but kids will be kids and admittedly we were both far too immature to know what we were doing.
Life has blessed us both with the opportunity to grow, to gain experience, and to appreciate what we have rather than what we don't have (yet). It has brought us together as a strong unit, with promises to communicate our troubles and concerns at all times, and to always be honest with each other.
Cute fact: Nathan booked his plane ticket because I was having a really bad day. He wanted to do something to cheer me up and in the spurt of the moment he decided to spend a week in Holland with me.
One of the many things I've always wanted to show him was the amusement park called Efteling. The park is similar to Disneyland, but there are a lot more classic fairy tales portrayed there that you might not have heard of. For example: The Wolf and the Seven Young Goats, The Nightingale, and The Wishing-Table, the Gold-Ass, and the Cudgel in the Sack. The coin you see here is actually from the latter fairy tale. Have you heard of it before?
I also took Nate to see the Van Gogh museum. I'm a simple girl, I like simple dates. A date at a museum is something I've always wanted to do, and truly, I had a blast. Van Gogh is one of the most famous painters in the world, and honestly... you should go to the museum yourself to see why.
If you are an artist who struggles with style, identity, and inspiration, this is definitely the place to visit. Oh, and don't forget to get the audio information with it as well. There's some amazing story-telling about many paintings and Van Gogh's life.
We also went to see markets, went shopping, had good food, drank some cocktails, and took a lazy day in our hotel room to just cuddle and watch Supernatural on Nate's phone. I am truly blessed to have this man in my life and to be able to spend time with him during the pandemic. Although it was risky, I only contracted the flu and sore legs. (I blame the poorly maintained hotel air conditioning for the flu. It gave us nothing but hot air and bacteria at the very least.)
Seeing him go was rather painful, but this goodbye is not permanent. We will speak to each other online daily, and try our best to work towards a future where we will see each other in person on a daily basis.
And that basically sums up my holiday. Despite the pandemic and the (once again) rising fear of Rona being spread, I had a good time and was tested negative. I am blesses, I am thankful. ❤
Unfortunately, I came home with the flu. (Yes, I've tested for Covid twice, but both came out negative.) So I'm, going to recover from this first before going back to work!
I am grateful for...
Being able to live under a roof with my parents
This week's song:
Question of the week:
Have you gone on a holiday this year?
If so, what did you do?
If not, what are you planning to do next time you go?
